The Last Goodbye, a love letter to 23 Penman Close
‘The Last Goodbye’ is all about my grandparents’ house. Their house was my first home and continued to be my second home throughout my life. It’s my home away from home.
Now that their children have grown up and bought their own houses, they’ve found there’s no longer the need for such a large house for just the two of them. So after 35 years, they’ve decided it’s time to downsize.
My grandparents and I had one last lunch together before the last goodbye, leaving the house for one, final, time. The house, once full of laughter and chaos, now stands alone, empty and silent. This photogrpahic story documents them as they pack up their belongings and relive all the happy memories from this house.
THE BLUEPRINTS
‘The Blueprints’ is a project based around my grandparents and their role in my family. I’ve titled the project ‘The Blueprints’ as I think it perfectly captures the way I look up to my grandparents as role models. The brief provided was “Life in a day” - I followed my grandparents throughout their day-to-day life, capturing the little moments that mean a lot. The final project consists of a series on 12, carefully selected images that I think most strongly communicate my concept.
